Easter Sunrise on the Mount of Olives

I’m still combing through my images from Good Friday and yesterday’s Holy Fire festivities in the Old City, but I couldn’t wait to post these pix from this morning’s Easter service a few hundred meters from our doorstep on the Mount of Olives, with a grand view of the Jordan Valley.

From the second verse of our third hymn:

Jesus is ours! We fear no powers,
Not of earth or sin or death.
He sees and blesses in worst distresses;
He can change them with a breath.
Wherefore the story tell of his glory
With heart and voices; all heav’n rejoices
In him forever, Alleluia!
We shout for gladness. Triumph o’er sadness,
Love him and praise him and still shall raise him
Glad hymns forever, Alleluia!
